Killing Commendatore is a novel by Haruki Murakami that tells the story of a struggling painter who becomes embroiled in a mysterious and surreal series of events after moving into a secluded mountain home.
Overall, I would give Killing Commendatore a rating of 2 out of 5 stars. While the book is well-written and contains some interesting elements, I found that it ultimately fell flat for me. The story felt disjointed and chaotic, and I didn't feel like it came to a satisfying conclusion.
One of the things that didn't work for me was the way the story jumps around in time and between different narrative threads. It can be challenging to follow, and I found myself losing interest at times because of it. Additionally, some of the characters felt underdeveloped and lacked depth, which made it difficult to connect with them.
On the plus side, the book does contain some truly intriguing and surreal moments, and Murakami's writing is as lyrical and evocative as always. If you're a fan of his work and don't mind a somewhat disjointed narrative, you may enjoy this book. But for me, it just didn't come together in a satisfying way.
